Sustainability Efforts of Cacao-King

Relevant Sustainability Actions that are taken by Cacao-King are shown below in relation to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG Factors) to achieve Sustainability Development Goals.

Major Environmental Issues and Concerns

SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production

Target 12.5: 
By 2030, substantially reduced waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.

Actions taken by Cacao-King:

1. Re-evaluate the use of plastic wrapping on its chocolate cookies and future production.

2. Replace its plastic wrapping with the unique cardboard cookies box made from greaseproof paper and glassine, which is more suitable for cookie packaging

3. Replacing the plastic packaging with paper boxes will help to reduce plastic wastage and environmentally as paper would be disposed of better than plastic

4. Collaborate with Percetakan Tenaga, a major packaging supplier in Malaysia, to halt the use of plastic wrap for Cacao King products

5. The SDGs 12 target and its indicators from 12.5 can be attained to a solution for responsible consumption and waste management.

Major Social Issues and Concerns

SDG 2 ZERO HUNGER

Target 2.1:
By 2030, end hunger and ensure access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations, including infants, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round

Actions taken by Cacao-King:

1. Company Food Bank

- Help the poor households and homeless community in minimizing the hunger issues in Malaysia.

2. Partnering with credible and trusted charities organization such as Charity Right (International Food Relief Organization under Mercy Mission Malaysia)

- Helps the communities in the world (including Malaysia) in combating hunger issues

3. Cacao King can create a positive brand name that exercises high ESG values in relation to communities' responsibilities. Accordingly, SDG 2 can be eradicated and achieve Goal 2, Targets 2.1.

Major Governance Issues and Concerns

SDG 16 PEACE AND JUSTICE STRONG INSTITUTIONS

Target 16.5:
Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms

Actions taken by Cacao-King:

1. Cacao King can administer the Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy (ABC) as directive accordance implies upon governing their business in Malaysia. 

- Aims to coordinate the responsibilities in tackling bribery and corruption issues

- Cacao King may sustain integrity and assure ethical trade conduct upon operating in Malaysia

2. Register to the Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance as a guideline exercising the companies to a higher degree of corporate governance.

- MCCGs permit more practical and flexible acknowledgment to elevate the standards of practice of corporate governance

3. Cacao King can adapt and transform to a better Board Leadership efficacy, constructive audit and risk control, and practicing ethics in corporate relating as well as significant association with stakeholders.

4. Administering the ABC Policy will assist Cacao King in acting in accordance and practicing professionalism when operating its business in Malaysia, in that way enhancing SDG 16 and attaining target 16.5.
